Mann ye Bawra...

I today had the privilege of witnessing a cinematic spectacle by the means of " Hazaaron Khwaahishen Aisi"..i know it may be a bit late in the day to write the review of a movie which has been released so long back...but now i know why sudhir mishra is considered to be the best among the current lot of directors by many!!
The story revolves around three charecters...vikram(shiny ahuja),geeta(chitraganda singh) and siddhant(kay kay menon)..and is palced in the turbulent 70's which witnessed perhaps the greatest joke on indian democracy..the emergency!!..basically a love story...which has deep undertones of political sattire,philosophy all knitted in..by sudhir mishra..which produces a canvas with more colours than say a karan johar or a sanjay leela bhansali!!
It takes a insighting look into the naxalite movement which is so relevant in the current situation.Kay Kay menon delivers..and chitraganda singh leaves you yearning for more..she transports acting into an era which has been lost..and she is not being compared to smita patil for nothing.Shiney Ahuja has many shades in his charecter and his weaknesses make him all the more real.move over Amir..here we have the most natural actor we have ever had!!
This is one indian movie which can have 10 different interpretations when 10 different people see it..it's leaves an impression and makes you think even hours after watching the movie!!..the words which come to the mind after it's finished are ..disturbing..fresh..the turbulence of youth...growing up..the swinging pendulam of fortune!!!..and the music is a treat..'mann ye bawra' is one song which will remain fresh for years to come!!..the various tragic love stories on display are bound to make one think...
i can go on writing about the movie..so let's stop here...so go treat yourself to this one ..which is sure a collector's edition!!
